What does "foster" mean?

There are hundreds of organizations that help place stray or surrendered dogs in permanent homes across the United States. Some animals at the Franklin County Animal Shelter just need a place to live temporarily, while these organizations are contacted and the right match can be made. This is where fostering, and you, can make a huge impact. Space is at a premium in the county facility and every healthy, adoptable animal that can live elsewhere for a few weeks or months while a permanent home is found helps the situation.

Healthy, harmless dogs will be killed by your county government beginning July 6th unless you tell them to stop.

Call your County Commissioners and let your voice be heard.

  • I do not want my government killing healthy, harmless dogs.
  • I believe the Department of Small Animal Control should help lost and stray animals, not kill them.
  • I am a citizen of Franklin County. I pay taxes. I vote.

Please call today, and ask other caring citizens to do the same.
